Providing Dynamics 365 Solution for an Elevating Company
With over 80 locations in North America, Symmetry Elevators is equipped to meet the accessibility needs of a wide spectrum of clients, from home and business owners, to municipalities, schools and other governmental entities.
Symmetry Elevating Solutions was looking to extend the existing CRM solution for integration with their partner companies that order elevators and lifts from them. They were using the traditional approach of MS Excel forms for taking orders from their partners which also involved a lot of paper work and manually processing the order. They were looking for some automated solution to eliminate paper work and streamline their business process flow.
Symmetry Elevating Solutions had a lot of dependent products and the ability to allow choosing only the relevant products based on the parent product selection in CRM was very much crucial for their business in order to manufacture an elevator according to the customer needs. Most child Products will have to be automatically chosen when the specifications are keyed in by the user.
For their business requirements we devised a client side solution for extending the CRM which search the database for a qualifying Product using OData/REST Endpoint and either load the results (if a single child Product is identified) or filter the lookup (if multiple child Products are identified) into the cost inputs for the form.
The new system, due to centralized processing, provides a more transparent set of data. This has enabled employees to create quotations with more speed and accuracy and see instantly where errors have occurred or where the service process has encountered difficulties. Furthermore the whole customer history can be brought up instantly – reducing manual searching time and making the overall service more efficient, intelligible and less labor intensive.
