Microsoft Social Engagement puts powerful social tools for sales, marketing and service teams – helping them to gain insight into how people feel about your business and to connect on social media with customers, fans, and critics. Use Social Engagement to assess the buzz around products and markets, or measure the social impact of an event/ product to learn more about target audience. Microsoft Social Engagement makes it easy to gain an overview of an event or assess the buzz around a product or market, and learn more about an audience.
In this blog post we will review the Microsoft Social Engagement application and its 2016 release.
Microsoft Social Engagement dashboard: Showing social sentiment, social sources, authors, key words and phrases, languages, regarding the specified keywords on the given date criteria.
Intention and Custom Tags:
Microsoft Social Engagement has now introduced intention tags and custom tags to help increase team efficiency for sales, Social Engagement automatically detects intentions in social posts. Intention tags are applied to acquired posts and are analyzed by a machine-learning based algorithm to detect author’s intentions. Posts that are picked up by a search topic are marked with the intentions identified. You can add/ remove tags from the posts. In addition there are custom tags feature too, you can manually add one or more custom tags to posts. Tags comes very handy when you want to highlight important announcements, provide additional information’s to posts and get a more detailed and structured data set. You can also apply filter by tags to get the posts only required to you for analysis.
Social CRM & Engagement
You can now create social centers that allow you to engage with people on social media channels. This is a handy feature for a social media manager to interact with people on Facebook and Twitter but could also for a Customer Service Manager might listen to social conversations and assign posts to his or her team to respond. Another useful addition is the automated triage, this will Increase team efficiency for sales and custom service manager through automated detection of potential leads and cases from social media posts. We can also link posts to CRM entities such as leads and cases.

When you find a post in Social Engagement you can share this post to your peers with few clicks. Simply click the Post Link button and add some text to your post. Choose the social profile( To share a Post you have to own at least one social profile) to post to, and you’re done. You can also add photos when you reply to a post.
